Enterprise Awards

The Knowledge West Enterprise Awards recognise and reward the best business ideas and new enterprises by students, staff and alumni from the annual business plan competitions of the six Higher Education Institute (HEI) partners within Knowledge West.

Launched in 2007, the enterprise awards were based on a 'Winner of winners' competition originally held across the Universities of Bath, Bristol and the West of England. In encouraging other HEIs to build enterprise skills through business plan competitions the awards expanded to include entrants from Bath Spa University, the University of Gloucestershire, and the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.

The enterprise awards are run following the completion of each HEI business plan competition. Entrants are supported by their HEI and associated business mentors to continue the development of their business plan and business. Entrants are provided an opportunity to practice their presentation pitches and have filmed interviews to help promote their business at the awards.

Judging includes the review of the entrants written business plan and final 10min pitch to a judging panel. The judging panel consists of local business experts and advisors.

The enterprise awards ceremony celebrates the entrants participation in the competition with film presentations of each business, certificates for all entrants and significant cash prizes with regional exposure for the winning businesses. With over 100 regional business guests it is a great networking opportunity for these budding entrepreneurs.
